Privacy at Outside Jobs

Outside Jobs is job-management software for service businesses. This policy explains the information we collect, why we use it, how offline storage works, and how to request access, correction or deletion.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may process account and contact details, business details, customer and property information, jobs, schedules, quotes, invoices, crew records, notes, before/after photos, uploaded job images, location or GPS points you choose to provide, device and diagnostic information, and payment-related status or identifiers.

Card details

Card-present and online card payments are processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. Outside Jobs does not need to store a customer's full card number.

Website usage analytics

Our public website and web app may set a first-party visitor identifier so we can measure aggregate usage such as unique visitors, page views, sign-ups and service health. It is used for operating and improving Outside Jobs, not for third-party advertising. We do not use this control-room metric to sell personal information.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure accounts; schedule and complete work; prepare quotes and invoices; support recurring rounds, offline sync and marketplace matching; process or verify payments; provide measurement and photo-assessment tools; troubleshoot problems; measure service usage; and communicate about the service.

AI photo assessment

If you choose the AI photo-assessment feature, the selected job photos and limited job context are securely sent to OpenAI to assess visible condition, access and complexity. The feature does not decide the final price and should not be used to infer hidden conditions or exact property dimensions. You choose whether to use this feature and which photos to submit.

Customer information entered by businesses

Businesses using Outside Jobs may enter information about their own customers, workers and properties. The business is responsible for having an appropriate reason and authority to collect and use that information. We process it to provide the app to that business.

Offline storage

Outside Jobs is designed for field work. Recent app data, drafts, job changes and selected photos may be stored on the device so work can continue without signal. Queued changes are sent to the service when the device reconnects. Signing out, deleting browser/app storage, uninstalling the app or deleting an account can affect locally stored copies.

Service providers

We may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, maps or aerial imagery, email or messaging, analytics/security, and photo or AI assessment when those features are enabled. They receive only the information needed to provide those services and operate under their own legal and security obligations.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when needed to provide the service, with the user's direction, to protect the service or its users, or where required by law.

Retention and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards and retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes and protect against fraud or abuse. No online service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can update much of your business information inside the app. You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information. Account deletion can be completed from More → Account & legal → Delete account, or requested through our public deletion page if you cannot sign in.
